Our client is a stable, well established building and maintenance construction business with an annual turnover of c£7m. They are involved with a diverse range of contracts across many different sectors. They are involved with building works, maintenance, repairs and redecoration as well as roofing. They undertake a range of projects mostly valued between £10-250k with the occasional large contract over £1m. Their clients include Local Authorities (LAs), Housing Associations (HAs) and Registered Providers (RPs) and Private Clients. They are in a period of steady growth and are now seeking to appoint a key individual, an experienced and ambitious Contracts Manager, someone keen to make their mark in a busy team. My client likes Partnering and collaborative arrangements; their ethos is about personal service and a professional attitude. They have an excellent track record of success and enjoy considerable repeat business with many of their clients. This is a newly created role due to increased work activity. You will need:
Good knowledge and experience working with Housing Associations, Local Authorities and property management companies Min 5 years relevant management and/or supervisory experience in a relevant sector with a main contractor eg refurbishment, interior/exterior redecoration, small building works Have relevant experience of managing multiple projects and site teams to deliver projects successfully, on time and within budget Ability to manage multiple jobs and deliver successful outcomes Experience of jobs with a value £10k to £500k Capable of going to jobs and pricing works, some surveying and/or estimating experience would be useful Good programming and contracts management skills Resourseful, a good problem solver, capable of providing technical solutions Able to supervise tradesmen carrying out the works Good at liaising with clients, ability to develop and cultivate lasting client relationships Solid trade background and qualifications are essential Lively and enthusiastic personality, good team player Must have a can-do attitude, willing to travel around Kent, London and the Home Counties
